The Lord wants you to have joy!
And just like a new born baby needs someone to care for and feed it, and will cry without it, you will need spiritual care and food in order to grow as a Christian.
First, it is important that you attend church. The Church is not an organization; it is an organism. It’s a living group of people who have one mind about them; Jesus is Lord.
It is equally important that you hear the word of God preached or taught. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Second, there will be many times when you will have questions about different things. Often other Christians, teachers, and pastors can help you find the answers, but sometimes the only answer will come from God. This is why it is important for you to develop a daily devotional and prayer time with God.
A daily devotional will help you to know and understand the Word of God.
A daily prayer time is when you talk to God just like you would talk to your best friend.
Prayer. The word draws a variety of mental images. A man with a shawl draped over his head hums Hebrew prayers from a tattered book. A minister in a tailored suit raises his arms and shouts his prayers before the congregation. A small child kneels beside her bed, reciting a nighttime prayer.
Whatever your perception of prayer, one common element remains true. Prayer is talking with God.
