Elisha thought it was just a simple trip visiting Elijah’s old stomping ground, but Elijah had a totally different thought in mind. He knew if he could show Elisha firsthand the depravity of their society, maybe then he would realize that it would take more than just an average relationship with God to make a difference. It would take a double portion.
